Formal Opening
The Exhibition will be formally opened on Wednesday 2 o'clock, by Hon. Jas. S. Duff, Minister of Agriculture. Major Currie, MP and others will speak.

LIGHTNING PLAYED HAVOC WITH 'PHONES AND ELECTRIC LIGHT.
A dispatch from Strathroy says: The worst storm of the season visited Strathroy and vicinity on Saturday night. The fuses at the electric light works were burned out, and half the town was left in darkness. The telephone service was put out of business for a time, no less than 25 'phones being burned out.

Sept. 28 Al Capp, (Alfred Gerald Caplin), cartoonist was born in New Haven, Ct. From 1934 to 1977, Capp wrote and drew the cartoon, "Li'l Abner", with its cast of wonderful characters Mammy and Pappy Yokum, their son Abner, the lovely Daisy Mae, Fearless Fordick and the lovely Schmoos. Al Capp even invented a holiday, Sadie Hawkins Day. Don't be a pal to your son. Be his father. What child needs a 40-year-old for a friend?"
