Ottawa Senators Win Stanley Cup

Moved by W. A. J. Bell, seconded by Richard Bell - That this convention of Conservatives of the historic County of Simcoe desires to express its appreciation of the magnificent fight waged by Mr. Borden, the talented leader of His Majesty's Loyal Opposition, in the Dominion Parliament, against the forces of corruption and graft which now hold sway in Ottawa; his strong and fearless arraignment of the Government's un-British and unbusinesslike methods and policy.

March 5 1909 Town officials are reappointed at a special meeting of the town council.
On Wednesday evening last, a specializing of the City Fathers was held to, appoint officers for 1909 and resulted as follows:
Clerk J. H. Duncan, $857.00
Treasurer A. D. Knight $1000.00
Solicitor W. T. Allan $400.00 an increase of $100.00
Chief of Police James Wilde $850.00
Chief of Fire Brigade R Goodmurphy $125.00

Resolultion Against Profanity

March 18 The members of the Nottawa Adult Bible Class at their last meeting resolved to discourage all manner of profane and foul language in others, and by their influence and kindly persuasion strike to win those who are addicted to this vice to cultivate purity of speech for the sake of the young people around them, and as an example of their own true manhood.
